Sauna for a cold

Is it appropriate to visit the sauna if we suffer from a viral illness such as the flu or a cold?

Regular stay in the sauna against flu and colds

Apart from relaxation, the biggest added value of sauna is the support of the immune system. Another beneficial effect is that many harmful substances leave the body during sweating. When steam is inhaled, the airways are moistened, which has a beneficial effect on their natural cleaning. Staying in the sauna also promotes blood circulation and cleanses the skin.

So if you haven't tried a sauna yet, we definitely recommend doing so, but following certain rules. If you have a cold, wait until you feel better. But if you start visiting the sauna regularly and before the outbreak of the disease, you can avoid viral diseases by a long way.
