Everything about saunas

We know the sauna mainly as a device that has beneficial effects on human health. Above all, the sauna has an excellent preventive effect. Regular sauna use strengthens the defense capabilities of the human body and reduces the occurrence of various diseases. Furthermore, the sauna is used as a means of gradual hardening and as a means of increasing fitness.

Before visiting the sauna

Any healthy person can visit the sauna (for sick people, a doctor must always decide). For the optimal course of the sauna, it is necessary to observe certain principles: the organism should be "at ease" before the sauna, everyone should reserve a time of approximately 90 minutes. One should not be hungry, but not with a full stomach. Before the sauna, we put away all our clothes, we need to wash ourselves thoroughly in the shower. Before entering the sauna, it is necessary to dry off carefully so as not to increase the humidity in the sauna.

Optimal temperature in the sauna

For regeneration purposes, an air temperature between 80 and 100 °C with a relative humidity of 5% is recommended. A higher temperature is unsuitable for regeneration purposes. This temperature is measured at least 1 m from the heat source at a height of 150 cm above the ground and at least 20 cm from the wall. The highest temperature in the sauna is near the ceiling, where it should not exceed 110 ° C, and the lowest on the floor - around 40 ° C.

The duration of the stay in the sauna varies considerably, usually it is about 10 minutes. It should be emphasized that children overheat very quickly when taking a sauna, and therefore the duration of their stay in the sauna must be proportionally shorter. A reliable indicator of the end of the stay in the sauna is the onset of profuse sweating.

Phase two - cooling

Overheating is followed by rapid cooling. The speed of cooling is also an individual matter - the slowest effect is a transition to cold air, cold shower works a bit faster, and the fastest is a jump into a pool with cold water at a temperature of 8-12 ° C.

This process - i.e. overheating and cooling - is repeated two to three times. A larger number is not recommended for regeneration. The heat effect can be enhanced in the sauna by brushing.

It is good to end the sauna with at least a 30-minute stay in the rest room. The sauna is part of the regeneration procedure, so it is necessary not to forget to replenish liquids (hard alcohol under no circumstances). A massage after the sauna is also very pleasant.
